Aim of the Department and Object of the Studies

The undergraduate curriculum of the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics covers the Science of Dietetics and Nutrition, in the whole range of the term diet, from nutrients and foods to lifestyle, with a focus on people and health.

The aim of the programme is to train scientists who will apply the Science of Nutrition and Dietetics, towards the improvement of the dietary habits and nutritional status of both individuals and groups of the population, healthy or sick, across the age range and in the dimensions of both prevention and treatment of diseases.

The education provided in the Department covers the broadest range of the discipline of Nutrition, combines theoretical training with laboratory and practical training, and is in line with current scientific developments.

The Department also fosters high quality research contributing to the promotion of scientific knowledge and public health, as well as the economic and social development of the country.
