R.Tenta’s research focuses on the field of Human Physiology and is mainly interested in the study of nutritional, pharmacological and other parameters (hormones, exercise) which may affect the physiological functions of cells, tissues and systems of the human organism.

Education

  • Post-doc research in Experimental Physiology (Medical School, University of Athens), in collaboration with the Oncology and Molecular Endocrinology Unit of the CHUL Research Centre, Quebec City, Canada, 2006.
  • PhD in Experimental Physiology, Medical School, University of Athens, 2004.
  • Master degree in Cellular and Molecular Pharmacology (D.E.A), Université Pierre et Marie Curie (Paris VI), 2000.
  • Bachelor in Pharmacy, University of Athens,1999.

Research Interests

  • Experimental and Applied Physiology: study of the mechanisms involved in physiological and pathophysiological aspects of the human body.
  • Physiology of bone tissue - bone metabolism - molecular mechanisms of bone remodeling
  • Nutrition and Cancer: pharmacological evaluation of natural and synthetic compounds – study of apoptotic and autophagic mechanisms
