Fiona McCullough, Professor in Dietetics

Short biography

Fiona has been a Registered Dietitian since 1995, having worked in a number of clinical and community posts within the UK. She joined the University of Nottingham in 2002 and is now the Professor in Dietetics, as well as Deputy Head of the School of Biosciences.

Fiona’s research interests include metabolic syndrome and workplace health.

Fiona has extensive experience in curriculum design at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. She has played an active role in developing the curriculum for dietetics across Europe through her role as Chair of the EFAD Education and Lifelong Learning Committee since 2016. Within the UK she has developed lifelong learning programmes for dietitians and diversified placement opportunities.

Fiona has been a dietetics external examiner at 8 Universities across the UK and 4 globally, as well conducting 7 PhD vivas.

Additionally, Fiona has substantial experience chairing and participating in external review of nutrition and dietetics programmes. She was Honorary Chairperson for the British Dietetic Association 2015-2017.
